Vicky is from South Africa, having qualified from the Veterinary Faculty at Onderstepoort with a graduate diploma in Veterinary Nursing, her interest in animal physiotherapy was sparked whilst working in racehorse and orthopaedic small animal referral practices in South Africa.
Moving to the UK in 1994, she enrolled in the diploma course offered by the International Association of Animal Therapists, qualifying in 1996. Soft tissue techniques became her focus of further development and she went on to qualify with an ITEC diploma in Human and subsequently Equine Sports Massage under the tutelage of Mary Bromiley MBE, Veterinary Physiotherapist and Fellow of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists. Furthermore, she gained an American internationally accredited Diploma in Equine Sports Massage, under guidance of Mary Schreiber PT.
Vicky has been practicing as equine physio- and sports massage therapist since 1996, and is dedicated to her continuing professional development of remedial soft tissue and neuromuscular techniques by keeping up to date with the latest evidence- based research. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 2010 , jointly awarded by the Royal Veterinary College London and Middlesex University and is embarking on a Masters Degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy. She works closely with equine practices in the Guildford area and is comprehensively insured for all aspects of her work.
She is a professional member of the British Equine Veterinary Association, The Royal Veterinary College, The International Association of Animal Therapists,The Equine Sports Massage Association and the International Association for Veterinary Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy.
